Login Issues on Specific Sites

Hermit’s default settings are strict, because they enhance your privacy and keep you safe. But some sites require you to loosen your security settings for login to work correctly.

Google in Desktop Mode

Google has started showing an ominous warning that browsers other than the 5 most-used browsers are not secure.

Of course, this is not at all true, and we believe it is anti-competitive for Google to discourage people from using the browser of their choice, and then recommending their own browser as the supposedly safer alternative.

To work around this useless warning,

Once you are in Desktop Mode, you will stay logged in.

Besides providing you this work-around, there is unfortunately nothing we can do about this.

We encourage you to complain to Google and your local anti-competitive authority to get them to stop this practice.
